How long have you been photographing weddings for?

I began photographing weddings in 2005 whilst working as an assistant to an award-winning London-based wedding photographer.

How do you approach the day?

Typically a wedding is a formal event but I try to make my photography as informal as possible. The only posed images I take on the day are a few group shots and some semi-formal photographs of the couple together.

How soon will we be able to see our pictures?

It usually takes me three working days to process the images from a wedding. The reason for this is that I process each image individually enabling me to bring out the finest qualities from the digital file.

How many pictures do you take on the day?

This depends on the length/type of wedding but in a full day I expect to trip the shutter about 1000 times. After I have edited out the 'blinks' and misfires you can expect to see around 350 finished photographs.

Who owns the copyright to the images?

The photographer always retains the copyright unless they reassign it. This, however, would be an expensive option for the client as one would only require the copyright if intending to sell the images on to a third party etc. The images I supply are licenced to you for your personal use (i.e. printing and sharing with friends/family etc).

The completion of the booking forms and a 30% deposit will secure the date for you.

Do you use assistants or a second photographer?

No, generally speaking, but I do offer training for photographers which occasionally involves them coming to weddings with me (with the couple's permission).

What equipment do you use?

I work with two 21 MP Canon 5D mkII digital SLRs. One is fitted with a 35mm f/1.4 wide-angle lens; the other with an 85mm f/1.2 telephoto lens. I also carry a 16-35mm f/2.8 wide-angle zoom; a 70-200mm f/2.8 telephoto zoom and a couple of flash guns.

How far will you travel?

I work all over the UK and Europe and am willing to travel anywhere.
